In case anyone is wondering, Christy is currently in detox at one of the Pacific Northwest's best alcohol/drug rehabilitation centers. She gets one call a day and I was fortunate enough to speak with her earlier. In short, she is getting better.

I was born & raised in a Catholic bubble. The religion was handed down to me without question or inquiry. During college, everything I had grown to know was challenged and I started to step away from my faith. Now, I'm rediscovering the beauty of being Catholic alongside my three children. In a world that glorifies what we look like, what we posses, and the pursuit of what makes us feel good, how do we still feel empty? And how can we fill that emptiness? It appears that the answers to these questions were always right in front of me-- in my Catholic faith!
